Setting up Windows Mail for Jaws
Windows Mail is a fairly easy program to use with Jaws, but you can make it even easier by making a few small changes.
- Open the “View” menu, move to the “Layout” menu item, and press enter, or press the letter l.
- The “Layout” dialogue box will then appear.
- Move to the “Show preview pane” checkbox by pressing tab, or press alt + p. This checkbox is checked by default, but Windows Mail is much more understandable if it is unchecked. Do this by pressing space.
- Move to the “Ok” button and press space to save the changes you made to the layout settings. You will then be put in the inbox.

You may need to get this information from your ISP (internet service provider).

- Press tab again to move to the “Remember password” checkbox. If you are the only person who uses this computer, it’s a good idea to check this box. This means that Windows Mail will not ask you for your password every time you check for new email. However, if other people use your computer, please leave this checkbox unchecked.
- Press tab to move to the “Next” button, and press space. You will then see the final screen of this wizzard. Press tab until you reach the “Finish” button, and press space. Your new email account is now set up and ready for use.
