The Juice Pod catcher

You can use Juice to download and manage your podcasts. It will get the latest episode of a podcast, delete old episodes, and let you browse a list of available podcasts.

Navigating in Juice

The Subscriptions List

When you first open Juice, you will be in a list view of all the podcasts you are subscribed to. You can use the following keys:

  • Down arrow – move to the next podcast.
  • Up arrow – move to the previous podcast
  • Home – move to the first podcast.
  • End – move to the last podcast.

To see all available episodes for a podcast, find the podcast in the list and press tab. You will then be in a list of episodes for the selected podcast.
When in the “Episodes” list, you can use the arrow keys to navigate through the available episodes, and space to change an episode’s status.
If you haven’t yet downloaded an episode, Jaws will say the title of the episode followed by “to download” when you move to it. If you don’t want to download it, press space, and Jaws will say “skipped.” This means that the episode will not be downloaded.
If you have already downloaded the episode, Jaws will say its title followed by “downloaded.” If you press space now, the episode will start to play.
Press tab to return to the list of subscribed podcasts.

Cleanup

Juice gives you an easy way to delete old podcast episodes. It’s called the “Cleanup” page. You can go there by choosing the “Cleanup” menu item in the “View” menu.
The first control on the “Cleanup” page is a combo box that contains all of your subscribed podcasts. You can use the arrow keys to find a podcast that you want to clean.
When you’ve found a podcast, press tab until you reach a list view that contains all of its downloaded episodes. Use the arrow keys to find an episode to delete, and then press space to select it. You can select as many episodes as you like. If you decide that you don’t want to delete an episode, move to it and press space again. Unfortunately, Jaws doesn’t say whether or not an episode is selected, so you have to remember.
When you have selected all the episodes that you want to delete, press tab until you reach the “Delete” button and press space. All the episodes that you selected will be deleted, and you will return to the combo box containing your subscribed podcasts.
If you want to delete all the episodes of a podcast, press tab until you find the “Select all” button and press space. This will mark all available episodes. Next press tab until you reach the “Delete” button, and press space. All of the episodes will be deleted, and you will return to the “Subscriptions” combo box.
