The 2011 Advanced Course Syllabus

Aims and Objectives

The advanced course builds on the knowledge gained from the intermediate course to give the participants practical experience in designing and developing a GUI application using the Python programming language and WX Widgets. By the end of the course, the participants will have:

• A good knowledge of the Python programming language
• The ability to plan, design and build a small to medium scale software application
• A basic knowledge of the WX Widgets windowing toolkit, and the ability to design and build simple GUI interfaces

Fifteen days in total: Wednesday the 3rd of August to Friday the 19th of August, 2011.

• 10:00 to 12:30: welcome and course outline
• 13:30 to 16:00: introduction to HTML
