About the Teruko Ikeda ICT Blog

This blog is designed to support past and present trainees and staff of the Japan Braille Library ICT training programme, held annually by the Japan Braille Library at St. Nicholas Home in Penang, Malaysia.
Here you can read about what the former trainees are doing now, their thoughts and opinions of the training programme, and much more.
This is also a good place to find technical tips and tutorials about using Windows, the Apple Macintosh and Linux with a screen reader and speech.
If you have any ideas about content, or just want to say hello, then please feel free to leave a comment.

I’m one of the 4 girls from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Lately, we came and visited St. Nicholas Home, Penang. I just like to say “Hello” to all the instructors and trainees of Teruko Ikeda from St. Nicholas Home. I can get a lot of information from this blog and I find it will be very useful for me in future time. Bye!

    Helow,
I have a problem with windows 7 and with jaws 11.
In the windows 7 flatform, when install the jaws 11, startup wizard was run. On that screen, I setup all settings as I wish. But after the restart the PC, jaws was not load automatically. Any one can help me to solve this problem?.

    Thanks

    Hi, Rasika.
Make sure that your Windows7 user account has administrator privileges.
If you aren’t logged in as an administrator, you may not be allowed to save your Jaws preferences.
One way around this is to re-install Jaws, but make sure that you only install it into your user account. Alternatively, ask your computer’s administrator to install it for you, and ask him or her to configure your Jaws settings at that time.
