Seminar: Job Situation and Training Philosophy

All participants are expected to prepare a presentation about their job and training philosophy. The presentation should include the following topics:

  1. What is your organisation? What type of job do you have? Does your boss support your ideas? How long have you worked there? Would you change anything about your job?
  2. What kind of people receive your training? What is your training philosophy? Why do you have this philosophy? Do your training ideas work in the real world? Do you plan every training session?

Discussion 1: Designing An Effective Training Syllabus.

Group discussion about what makes a good training syllabus:

  1. Characteristics of a “good” syllabus.
  2. Syllabus design and design methodology.
  3. Modifying a syllabus to meet current needs.
  4. Planning versus ad hoc improvisation.

Discussion 2: Getting the Most out of the Internet

  1. How to use the Internet effectively.
  2. Search strategies.
  3. Useful web sites.
  4. Podcasts and RSS feeds.
  5. Blogs and social networking sites (e.g. Facebook)
